In collaboration with the Augustinermuseum Freiburg, the Kloster Museum St. Märgen is presenting the first exhibition on the Breisgauer Fünfer artists' association founded in Freiburg in 1903. On display are over 80 paintings, prints, books and postcards by the painters Prof. Karl Heffner (1849-1925), Karl Schuster (1854-1925), Fritz Reiss (1857-1915), Ludwig Zorn (1865-1921) and Hermann Dischler (1866-1935). The five artists joined forces to make their works known beyond the Breisgau region. Between 1904 and 1908, they exhibited together in Freiburg, Munich, Karlsruhe and Basel under the name Breisgauer Fünfer. The exhibition has set itself the task of highlighting the artistic diversity of the group and showing works by these very different artists together again for the first time in over 100 years, including numerous motifs from the Black Forest.
