Ausgestopfte heimische Vögel gehören zu den Anfängen der Museumssammlung.
In a small exhibition in the foyer, the City Museum is focusing on its own history. Objects from its beginnings as a teaching collection are on display, as are parts of the collection from the Villa Jamm in Bürgerpark, where the museum was located for decades. The crowning glory is to be found in the building itself: in 2018, the City Museum opened in the specially renovated clay kiln factory, a listed industrial building. The Stork Tower and the Roman complex, which are also part of the City Museum, are also featured. A picture show reviews the last 5 years.
