Evening event at the Kunsthalle Messmer, 16/09/2025
In the exhibition "Art in Dialogue" two extraordinary personalities meet:
Juan Amador (*1968) is one of the few chefs to have been awarded three Michelin stars for over 15 years. Since 2020, he has also dedicated himself to art - with the same expressiveness.
"Art is a pleasure" - following this motto, Amador transfers his thoughts from the plate to the canvas. Like a cleverly composed dish, his paintings touch on an emotional level. He relies on reduction: few colors, deliberate blurring. The viewer is invited to develop their own associations.
Michael Stich (*1968), known as a tennis champion, is now an esteemed artist. As an exhibition visitor, he finds the inspiration that he transforms into his own works of art in his Hamburg studio. Stich has been showing his paintings since 2022 and impresses with a body of work that combines colorfulness and emotional depth.
The exhibition includes the impressive "Lightning Series" on China and Japan paper: an interplay of transparency and contrasts that reflects themes such as strength and vulnerability.
