Scrapbook Workshop: Unfolding Narratives – Teil 2

This event is available in
German
How do we listen to images rather than simply look at them? In what ways might our manipulations of images make the unseen, the unheard, and the unspoken visible?
Over the course of a three-day workshop, participants will engage with Troy Montes Michie's exhibition Jawbone Sings Blue, learn about scrapbooking, and develop their own version of a personal archive using different image manipulation techniques.
Participants will explore topics such as cultural representation, race, queerness, and power structures in society by drawing inspiration from Michie's artistic practice and feminist theories by Tina Campt. This includes her approach to "listening" to images through sensation, sound, and emotional resonance.
