Salon du Modélisme - Playmobil® exhibition
EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF MINIATURE AT CITÉ DU TRAIN - PATRIMOINE SNCF!
To mark the European Heritage Days, the Cité du Train - Patrimoine SNCF in Mulhouse is hosting the 17th edition of the Salon du Modélisme with its Playmobil® exhibition. A must-see event for model railways, scale models and Playmobil® enthusiasts.
Dive into a world where the little stories we've dreamed of since childhood become reality!
Every year, this unique event, organized in partnership with the RAMCAS association (Rail Miniature Club Alsace Sud-Mulhouse), brings together miniature enthusiasts and professionals from all over Europe, around railway networks, models and scale models (trains, cars, trucks, aircraft, boats). In the heart of the museum's majestic collections, you'll discover numerous dioramas (displaying scale models) on all kinds of captivating themes and universes.
Constantly evolving, the Cité du Train has for several years been offering a fun and original way to discover the world of railways and its history. Lively and spectacular, it offers a wide range of demonstrations and events, both indoors and out, for families and friends to discover, to the delight of young and old alike.
Take a ride on a small train pulled by a steam locomotive, and discover construction workshops, demonstrations and manipulations!
Let's hear the stories with a Playmobil® exhibition
Alongside the model railroad exhibition, enjoy a new experience with the Playmobil® exhibition, organized in collaboration with Générations Playmo Elsass.
Following the success of its first edition in 2023, the exhibition returns bigger and more immersive than ever. Immerse yourself in mythical scenes, varied universes and Playmobil dioramas that will amaze young and old alike.
With family or friends, (re)immerse yourself in your childhood memories!
A variety of free hands-on and demonstration workshops will be on offer throughout the weekend, showing young and old how to build a model train layout, and the techniques involved.
For children first, several layouts will enable them to run different trains and modify their routes by maneuvering the points. A layout under construction will give them the chance to get their hands dirty, for example, by ballasting the rails, building trees or flocking (creating a meadow).
Adults won't be left out either, with workshops and demonstrations of model building, 3D and cutter printers, microcomputer automation...
THE EXCHANGE FAIR
Very popular with collectors and enthusiasts of all types of miniature vehicles and vintage toys, the traditional bourse d'échange organized as part of the Show will be held on both days of the event.
European Heritage Days
The theme of the 42nd European Heritage Days (JEP) is "Architectural Heritage". Created by the French Ministry of Culture, this event aims to make cultural and heritage sites throughout Europe accessible to as many people as possible.
With its unique preservation and restoration skills, SNCF heritage is more alive than ever! At the Cité du Train, discover three exhibition and entertainment areas that retrace the heroic period of the railroads from the 19th century to the present day, from the first steam locomotives to the TGV.
Explore the collections of Europe's largest railway museum during the weekend of September 20 and 21, 2025, in conjunction with the Salon du Modélisme.
