Under the motto "Plant diversity, harvest the future! - Climate-friendly gardening for a healthy home", the KLIMA ARENA shows how climate protection can be achieved in everyday life. The day of action makes it possible to experience how biodiversity, healthy soil and a regional, plant-based diet contribute to climate protection - for example through cooling, near-natural gardens, CO₂ binding in humus and resource-conserving consumption. Visitors receive specific tips for the garden, balcony and kitchen.
Together with strong partners, the KLIMA ARENA offers a varied program and numerous hands-on activities for young and old from 10 am to 5 pm on 15 March. NABU Baden-Württemberg and the Beefriendly initiative will be there with information on biodiversity and habitats for wild bees etc. The Kraichgau Heimatverein will be presenting the Terra Preta concept for soil improvement. Weltacker e.V. Region Mannheim will interactively illuminate the connection between nutrition and climate impact, while Solidarische Landwirtschaft Rhein-Neckar will present its model of regional, communal food supply.
All partners will be represented with information stands, short presentations and activities. The KLIMA ARENA also offers play activities in the theme park, a creative workshop for children aged five and over, guided tours of the special exhibition and interactive stations in the indoor and outdoor exhibition.
