Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 6pm

This rare astronomical instrument, invented in 1786 by Abbé Dicquermare, bears witness to the abundant research carried out in the modern era to perfect maritime navigation calculations. A naturalist with a passion for astronomy and geography, the scientist created a complex tool, made up of several flattened, movable spheres, for no less than 22 different uses. A calendar, northern and southern declinations, a table of climates, the position of constellations and an ecclesiastical and political map of France... discover this astonishing object from the collections, brought out of the reserves for the occasion.
