Concert with the Van der Pals Quartet: Gordan Trajkovic, Frederik Burstedt (violin), Markus Falkbring (viola) and Tobias van der Pals (cello)

"The artistic highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the 6th String Quartet by Leopold von der Pals. An outstanding spirit has created here and his high human maturity and transfiguration as well as his admirable technical ability have resulted in a work that is convincing in every respect", wrote the Basler Zeitung after the premiere of String Quartet No. 6. After works by Leopold van der Pals (1884-1966) were already performed in "Basel komponiert" in 2025, this concert offers the opportunity to get to know the late string quartets of the rediscovered composer.

String Quartet No. 4, op. 89 (1932, further development of the theme "Metamorphoses"), String Quartet No. 5, op. 144 (1943, isolation in times of war), String Quartet No. 6, op. 186 (1950, loneliness and in search of spirituality)
