From Hermann Daur's point of view - a sign hike to draw along

To mark the 100th anniversary of Hermann Daur's birth, on this day we will literally focus on his views of the local landscape - and we want to follow these views through drawing. All illustrators and those who want to become one are invited to go on a Hermann Daurs drawing hike around the Tüllinger. Starting from his home village of Ötlingen, where the first stop will be, we will hike to two further stations, the Lindenplatz on the Tüllinger, i.e. the view of Basel, and the Daur hut with a view of the Wiesental. At each station there will be a short introduction to what is important from a drawing perspective (1. village architecture and natural landscape, how do I find an abbreviation for the "too many" of nature, 2. near and far: the lime trees, the city; 3. air and landscape perspective: mountain and valley, the far distance), examples by Hermann Daur will also help us. And then we draw. The drawing material is entirely up to you. Basic equipment would be, for example, an A4 or A3 sketchpad, pencils of different hardness: B, 2B, 4B, 8B. The points are the important ones. Or charcoal or sepia pencils or pastels or... A small portable (e.g. three-legged) stool would be useful. Artistic ability is not obligatory, interest in learning and fun in doing is obligatory!
Duration of the drawing day: 9 am to approx. 6 pm. Meeting point at 9:00 am in Ötlingen at the end of Hermann-Daur-Straße above the village.
Please bring your own provisions. You could bring a contribution for a picnic lunch at Lindenplatz. Drinks will be available there.
