The renowned publishing house Edition Moderne from German-speaking Switzerland has done a lot to help comic art establish itself. Ever since it was founded in 1981, this publishing house for comics, graphic novels and humour has seen itself as a platform, and launch-pad, for young talent. So it is no surprise that the graphic novel ‘Fühl zu viel’ (Feeling Too Much) by young artist Eric Schwarz is being released by Edition Moderne. In a talk marking the 45th anniversary of this publishing house, co-publisher Marie-France Lombardo, artist Eric Schwarz and curator Anette Gehrig look into its history and how it has lived up to its claim of being ‘avant-garde since 1981!’.
