Artist Talk
The career of Emil Ferris, who grew up in Chicago and was influenced by the social upheaval of the 1960s, has been unusual and impressive in equal measure. It was not until she was over 50 that she published her first graphic novel. It brought her international success and has since been translated into five languages. In conversation with curator Anette Gehrig, Emil Ferris talks about her inspiration, and the path that led her to become a celebrated author and comics artist.
