At the Artist Talk at the Fumetto Comic Festival in Lucerne, Christophe Blain shows how complex facts can be turned into captivating comics. Blain's non-fiction comics fascinate readers with their combination of personal proximity to the subject matter, depth of content, lively illustrations and virtuosity. The artist talks to curator Anette Gehrig about how he weaves observation, expertise, intuition and imagination into highly successful non-fiction books. And as one of the most successful representatives of the Nouvelle Bande Dessinée, he breaks sales records not only with his Western parodies and adventure stories, but also with non-fiction comics.
