The Grässlin Collection is one of the most important private collections of international contemporary art. The “Kunstraum Grässlin” (art studio Grässlin) and “Räume für Kunst” (empty shops, private houses of the family) are used to present different exhibits to the public.

The collection focuses on art from the 1980s with works by Werner Büttner, Günther Förg, Isa Genzken, Georg Herold, Martin Kippenberger, Reinhard Mucha, Albert Oehlen, Markus Oehlen, Franz West and Heimo Zobernig, on the 1990s with works by artists such as Kai Althoff, Cosima von Bonin, Clegg & Guttmann, Mark Dion, Michael Krebber, Christopher Williams, and on the 2000s which are represented by Michael Beutler, Kalin Lindena, Stefan Müller and Tobias Rehberger.

Every member of the family enjoys a close link to the town: “Yet apart from the picturesque Black Forest idyll, our community should also enjoy contemporary art. We wish to offer a vibrant house that also attracts visitors from abroad,” says the Grässlin family.
