Museum St. Blasien
The Museum traces the development of the former cloister from the obscure "Cella Alba" to the most important Benedictine Abbey of the Black Forest. It shows the history of the building of the cathedral, the dissolution of the former monastery during secularisation, the ensuing factory period and the blossoming of St. Blasien as a spa for the aristocracy, the gentry and important artists.

In a relatively small space an epoch-spanning structural change is showcased. This change also includes the emergence of sports-related tourism and winter sports. The exhibition presents the first skis ever produced in Germany and provides information about the landscape, nature and geology as well as about art and culture.
