For the first time in its history, the Fondation Beyeler is dedicating a solo exhibition to Paul Cézanne, a pioneer of modern art and one of the most important artists in its collection. The exhibition focuses on the final and most significant phase of the French painter’s career, highlighting key themes from his later years, including still lifes, portraits, landscapes, and scenes of bathers. Featuring around 50 oil paintings and watercolors, the exhibition offers an opportunity to experience the groundbreaking use of form, light, and color in Cézanne’s work — qualities that have inspired and influenced generations of artists to this day.
