Otto Erich Döbele Museum
The Otto Erich Döbele Museum was opened in 2010. The artist (1916-2009) trained as a sculptor in Basel and then studied at the Academy of Arts in Munich. His numerous travels, particularly to the United States, influenced him as did encounters with Alberto Giacometti, Étienne Martin and Pablo Picasso. Various exhibitions led to his national success. The museum showcases a selection of his works. Plastics, sculptures, different styles of collages, monotypes, wood and linoleum carvings and drafts complement the exhibition.
