Vindonissa Legionary Trail (Legionärspfad Vindonissa)

The Vindonissa Legionary Trail is the only Roman legionary camp in Switzerland. Here, 6,000 legionaries once prepared for their missions for the emperor in Rome. Today, Vindonissa can be experienced and visited interactively at eleven original locations. Atmospherically presented excavation sites – from the sunken officers’ kitchen to the ruins of the Roman thermal baths – bring the Roman legion back to life.
