The collections of the Cabinet of Prints and Drawings, formed from 1890, currently number more than 220,000 works, ranging from the fifteenth to the twentieth century. The collection, of inestimable value, covers the most varied fields of art and techniques, and is particularly distinguished by the documentary value of the preserved works. The iconography relating to Alsace, the engraving of the sixteenth century, especially the works of Dürer and Baldung-Grien, the 470 etchings of Callot and the lithographs of Daumier constitute the most significant sets.
Due to the work related to the opening of the future CIAP at 5 place du Château, the Cabinet of Prints and Drawings is no longer accessible to the public. It is scheduled to reopen in the autumn of 2019.
