Regional 26 - 8ung

The American journalist Ezra Klein speaks of attention as the new currency. Those who receive it gain power and influence. We live in an ocean of impressions: all written books, all music, images and films are available at all times. In this flood, we have to choose: Where do we direct our gaze? Who or what do we give our time to? The exhibition title "8ung" combines "Attention" with the number eight. The horizontal eight stands for infinity, return and the constant flow of life. It is also a symbol for pausing. The exhibition brings together works by artists who question the power of attention and its social impact - and search for moments of conscious seeing. "8ung" invites you to direct your own attention thoughtfully in the stream of impressions.
