In 2026, 17 works produced in 2025 were selected from 388 submissions, on the recommendation of an international jury chaired by Sereina Rothenberger and composed of Mathias Clottu, Veronica Ditting, Josse Pyl and Marco Walser. The evaluation criteria focused on graphic and typographic design, the quality of printing and binding, as well as the choice of materials.
From June onwards, a touring exhibition will travel through Switzerland as well as around twenty international cities in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Alongside the competition, the Jan Tschichold Award, which honours a personality, group, or institution whose achievements are remarkable in the field of Swiss editorial design, is awarded this year to the Franco-Swiss duo Coline Sunier & Charles Mazé.
Selected award-winning publications will be available at the Kunsthalle Basel Bookshop.
