The Moulothèque de Meisenthal brings together a vast repertoire of molds collected from regional glassworks that are no longer in existence.
Some of these wooden molds, exhausted by the ravages of time, are now crippled and out of use. To save them from their foretold fate, designer François Azambourg mended them and invited them to undergo a final trial by fire. The resulting pieces are touchingly authentic. Inhabited by the wounds of their dies and presented with their original molds, they proudly parade to tell the story of glassmaking past and present.
