The exhibition "Dream Spaces" shows abstract landscapes of the Hegau-Lake Constance region in acrylic on canvas. The works are based on impressions of volcanic mountains, water, light and the vastness of this special landscape.
In her paintings, Katharina Bitter dissolves real forms and translates them into colorful compositions of structure, movement and atmosphere. She creates pictorial spaces between memory and perception, in which landscape is not shown as a concrete representation, but as a mood and inner experience.
The works invite the viewer to discover their own associations and engage in a poetic, open interpretation of landscape.
Katharina Bitter, born in Russia in 1988, has lived in Germany since 1999. She studied Slavic and Romance languages and literature at the University of Tübingen.
In her work she mainly uses acrylic paints and mixed media, often combined with textured pastes and experimental materials. In addition to her own artistic practice, she gives painting courses for children and teaches the joy of creative expression.
