Ilse Siedler-Witting (1926–2018) was a German painter and collector.
After studying at the art academies in Berlin, Königsberg, and Karlsruhe, she developed a distinctive body of work featuring landscapes, still lifes, and floral motifs. At the same time, over the course of decades, she built a significant art collection of 20th-century works, including pieces by Paul Cézanne, Salvador Dalí, Otto Dix, Johannes Grützke, Oskar Kokoschka, Max Liebermann, and other prominent artists.
Her paintings and her collection alike bear witness to an intense engagement with 20th-century art. Ilse Siedler-Witting bequeathed her entire artistic oeuvre and art collection to the Südwestdeutsche Kunststiftung.
This exhibition reveals the close connection between her own creative work and her passion for collecting.
