Hella Jongerius has been one of the most influential personalities in contemporary design for over 30 years. Her groundbreaking works range from textiles and ceramics to furniture, lamps and sculptural pieces. With her research-based approach to design, Jongerius became a role model for an entire generation of young designers. The exhibition is the first retrospective of the entire oeuvre of the Dutch designer, who worked with Maharam, KLM, Camper and Vitra, among others. The archive of her design studio JongeriusLab has been housed in the Vitra Design Museum since 2024. The objects and documents it contains provide insights into Jongerius' way of working, her multi-layered thinking, her passion for craft processes and her intensive exploration of materiality and the symbolism of things. Her passion for craftsmanship and color always goes hand in hand with a clear awareness of the big picture. The exhibition catalog also includes a documentation of the Jongerius archive at the Vitra Design Museum.
