Plants play a vital role in our lives: they produce the oxygen we breathe, nourish our bodies and provide the raw materials for our clothes and medicines. What’s more, this biological diversity embellishes our daily lives, awakens our senses and carries infinite symbolic, philosophical and even political interpretations.
From 29 April 2025 to 4 January 2026, the exhibition Garden party at the Musée Würth in Erstein presents an anthology of works celebrating the plant world. Nearly sixty artists share their vision of nature through around a hundred creations. From the remarkably detailed botanical illustrations of Jan Peter Tripp to the vibrant bouquets of Lovis Corinth and Gabriele Münter, and the lush gardens of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Garden party brings together contrasting worlds. The exhibition also features Alex Katz‘s contemporary tributes to Monet’s famous water lilies and Azuma Makoto‘s quasi-scientific explorations.
