Carmen Stahlschmidt has been working intensively with sculptural design since 2008 in the Eberhard Linke studio in Flonheim. She takes up the technique of terracotta sculpture developed by Prof. Eberhard Linke (1937-2025) and implements it in her works with her own unmistakable signature style. For her mostly large-format drawings on paper and polyester, she prefers black lead, graphite, colored pencil and ink as a means of expression, lending her pictorial themes radiance and tension.
Carmen Stahlschmidt finds her motifs in all living things - flora, fauna and a great deal of femininity characterize her oeuvre. Characteristic of her figures, both in sculpture and drawing, is their sensual quality - whether cheerful or thoughtful, dreamy or energetic, calm or dynamic, they are moving and full of life.
