The BMW Z series embodies the essence of driving pleasure, individuality and bold engineering. Since the introduction of the first model, the BMW Z1 in 1987, the "Z" has stood for "future" - and thus refers to the experimental character of the series. The Z models not only mark technical milestones in BMW development, but are also cultural statements of their time.
