François Daireaux crossed the glassmaking cultures of Meisenthal and the town of Firozabad (India), where glass bracelets, or bangles, have been produced and worn by Indian women for centuries.
By imagining a novel protocol involving blowing bangles of different colors into 404 historical molds, the artist creates new forms that carry within them both the presence and absence of the initial object.
Behind the apparent hypnotic beauty of the "404 prints" of colored glass lies a darker side, that of all mass production, devouring energy and lives.
Exhibition presented in the Gallery of the Centre International d'Art Verrier, as part of the tour of the Site Verrier de Meisenthal.
