The National and University Library (Bnu) and the René Cassin Foundation – International Institute for Human Rights, in collaboration with the King Center (Atlanta) and REAL EXPO (France), are presenting the exhibition “Martin Luther King – Right to Freedom” from September 18, 2026, through January 17, 2027.
An extraordinary exhibition, on view in France for the first time
Initiated by the Nobel Peace Prize Museum in Stockholm, the exhibition is curated by Ashley Woods in close collaboration with Bernice A. King, Martin Luther King’s daughter and CEO of the King Center, who describes the exhibition as “the most comprehensive ever created about my father.”
The exhibition’s curator, Ashley Woods, explains: “This exhibition aims to shed light on Martin Luther King’s struggles and achievements. It also raises questions about our fundamental rights. It seeks to inspire reflection, discussion, and action.”
A powerful journey through the history and present of human rights
The exhibition transports visitors to the heart of the African American civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s and brings the story to life through numerous historical documents, photographs, artifacts, music, television footage, and exclusive interviews. An interactive installation, “Dream Builder—The Dreamer,” invites the audience to engage with fundamental rights and to be inspired to reflect and take action.
Since the issues championed by Martin Luther King—and in particular his ideal of human rights and social justice for all—are more relevant today than ever, we invite you to discover the exhibition at the Bnu on September 18.

It was the largest civil rights rally of that era. King’s speech is considered the greatest speech of all time.” Photo: Bob Adelman/Library of Congress.
