Sound performance by Amedeo Maria
Amedeo is a Swiss-Italian artist and musician. He studied gagaku 雅楽 at a shrine in Tokyo, a rare form of Japanese court music dating back to the 8th century, with roots in the music from T’ang dynasty. The main focus of the work is practice-based research on the relationships between non-linear exploration of time and textural abstractions. Another significant formative and ongoing project has been Amedeo's collaboration with the late polymath C. C. Hennix. This collaboration led to the realization of several projects, culminating in the founding of Kamigaku, an extensive sound project presented at venues including Performance Space New York and the Biennale Musica in Venice, curated by Caterina Barbier
