As part of the 27th edition of Regionale and the exhibition Far Reach at Kunsthalle Basel, Screen Dialogs is presenting two short films by artists from Basel and Bangladesh.
Malaino Nungbai Hapungo (See You by the Mountain)
The film by Santua Tripura explores the interiority of an Indigenous documentarian. In the wake of the 2024 mass uprising in Bangladesh, the film confronts a newfound reckoning with Indigenous identity and its precarious place within a nation's shifting for uncertain historical moment.
Search for Khubady
An experimental documentary by Lale Keyhani, which emerged from research into an almost forgotten Ossetian folk song. Navigating themes of loss, appropriation, and resistance, the film explores the fragility of oral traditions and examines how political borders cut across and alter forms of cultural expression.
The bar opens 15 minutes before the film screening begins.
