First work, then play - children's lives in the 19th century

Thun-Panorama: Das Rundbild von Marquard Wocher
This event is available in
German
Themed tour of the panorama painting by Marquard Wocher.
Many children can be seen in Wocher's panoramic picture, mostly playing. But what was everyday life as a child really like back then? What did it mean to be a child? Was there such a thing as a carefree childhood? Did children have rights? This tour explores the topic of childhood from all possible perspectives.
