Community Day: Vegetable Garden in the City

The hands-on day begins with a tour of the “Ruth Asawa” exhibition, which focuses on the artist’s passion for gardening and botanical drawing. During the subsequent excursion to the vegetable garden run by the plankton association, participants will learn about the principles of community-supported agriculture and actively help out in the field. Together, they’ll harvest, weed, and tend to the garden while discussing the concept of the edible city.

For anyone aged 16 and older. No prior experience is necessary.

Please bring: sturdy shoes, rain gear, a drink, and a snack

Gloves and gardening tools will be provided!

The event will take place regardless of the weather. In the event of severe weather, the event will be canceled.

Schedule:
11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. – Guided tour of the “Ruth Asawa” exhibition
12:00–12:30 p.m. – Travel to plankton, Bäumlihof (individually by tram or bike)
12:30 p.m. – Meet at Bäumlihof for a light lunch and welcome by plankton
1:00–3:00 p.m. – Introduction and hands-on program at the vegetable garden with 2 gardeners
