Adolphe Sax and his instruments - Happy Hour

Special event
HMB
The Basel Music Museum is in possession of an original saxophone quartet built by its inventor Adolphe Sax. The exciting life story of Adolphe Sax allows us to immerse ourselves in the revolutionary era of industrialization, which shaped his life and work just as much as that of his contemporaries. Numerous musical examples during the tour make it possible to experience what Adolphe Sax meant when he praised his new invention as an "instrument suitable for all musical styles", which later also became very important in jazz
