The Regionale art exhibition is a cross-border project that is unique in this form. At the end of each year, 21 institutions from three countries (CH, D, F) present artistic positions from the Basel region and the tri-national area (Northwestern Switzerland, South Baden, Alsace). Having grown out of the tradition of the Basel Christmas or annual exhibition, the Regionale exhibition format, which was launched in 2000, serves to promote and intensify understanding between artists, cultural professionals and institutions on a tri-national level.
