The PuK Museum's permanent exhibition is an imaginative first encounter and re-encounter with the history and stories of puppet theater culture in Germany and around the world. Visitors to the museum come face to face with the stars from the "Augsburger Puppenkiste" or the "Salzburger Marionettentheater" and trace the path from wooden block to wooden head in the reconstructed carving workshop. All nine puppetry traditions recognized by UNESCO as cultural heritage can be visited: From delicate Chinese shadow puppets to the handily acting knight marionettes of Sicily.
