Museum Night and Olympics at the Musée Electropolis

Events
Nuit européenne des musées au Musée Electropolis
The European Night of Museums will take place on May 18, 2024, and it's only natural that the museum should take part in this event. What's more, in this Olympic year, Mulhouse Alsace Agglomération has decided to organize a sporting challenge called the "Museum Olympics" on that day.

The sporting challenge for the museum: Duel against the clock between man and machine. Exceptionally, visitors will have access to the large Sulzer-BBC machine (one person at a time). The machine will be stationary, and visitors will have to turn the wheel of the large machine using the force of their arms and the winch. Each participant (from a minimum height of 1.30 m) will have to move an electromagnet to the cursor on the machine's stator as quickly as possible. The 3 fastest times will be rewarded. Due to this animation, the multimedia show around the big machine will not be in operation.

Visitors will be able to come and visit the museum freely and free of charge from 2pm, but in view of the large number of visitors on this night, the usual static electricity animations and the outdoor game "Awakening the Sleeping Machines" will not be in operation.

May 18, 2024 between 2 p.m. and midnight (last entry at 11:30 p.m.)
Free admission, no reservations required.
