Basel MInster - A once-in-a-millennium building

Of bishops and master craftsmen, benefactors and stonemasons
In 2019, Basel Minster will celebrate a great anniversary: the 1,000-year existence of the Heinrich Minster, the reconstructed episcopal church, named after its patron, the Ottonian Emperor Heinrich II. On the occasion of this important Minster anniversary, the Museum Kleines Klingental, which holds numerous original sculptures from the Minster's later construction phases and is thus closely connected to the Minster building, is planning a special exhibition. It will be devoted to the construction history of Basel's most important church building and will be complemented by a varied accompanying programme.
