The House of the “Laughing Cow”
The company “La vache qui rit” (the laughing cow) was founded as a family firm and went on to become a remarkable industrial success story. Nowadays it is one of the best-known brands in the world.

The Bel Company in Lons-le-Saunier, where the very first packages of this cream cheese were produced, has opened this museum to give fans a chance to retrace the laughing cow's astounding rise to fame. Over an area of 3,450 m², visitors can view collectors' items, comprehensive picture material and documents that all bear witness to the 90 years of history, the development and diverse presentations of brand and products. The first stage of the exhibition takes visitors into two imposing cellars, remnants of the original cheese factory, while the rest of the exhibition is defined by its modern, harmonious and inviting architecture in accordance with the environment.
