The Centre Pompidou-Metz exemplifies the first decentralisation of a public cultural institution in France. The Centre Pompidou was founded in collaboration with the Communauté d'Agglomération Metz Métropole, the government, the Centre Pompidou, the state of Lorraine and the city of Metz.
It is a centre for modern and contemporary art and hosts temporary exhibitions, events, films and presentations in a studio and an auditorium. In addition, workshops invite children and teenagers to explore art. Special events complement this approach by encouraging young people to engage in
creative activity.
