Das Imaginäre in der Kunst von Caspar David Friedrich bis Picasso
Exhibitions

In a spectacular display with internationally renowned loans from museums and private collections, the Kurpfälzische Museum Heidelberg showcases the imaginary in modern art and its roots in the Romantic period. These connections are presented by the Kurpfälzische Museum from 14 October 2018 to 17 February 2019 in a special exhibition with high-quality loans of works by renowned artists such as Francisco de Goya, Caspar David Friedrich, Lovis Corinth, Edvard Munch, Giorgio de Chirico, Emil Nolde, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Max Pechstein and others. The lenders include prestigious museums such as the Hamburger Kunsthalle, the Städel Museum, the Kunstmuseum Basel and the Fondazione Carima in Macerata, Italy. Also on display will be exceptional works from exclusive private collections, which have hitherto never or rarely been shown in public and thus guarantee a special art experience.
