Tane Garden House

The Garden House, designed by Japanese architect Tsuyoshi Tane, is the latest addition to the Vitra Campus. The building is a strong sustainability statement, since its design mostly relies on natural materials like thatch, stone, and wood. The rooftop is open to the public and accessible through the Oudolf Garten. From 18 November, a special exhibition on the Tane Garden House will be shown at the Vitra Design Museum Gallery. The exhibition documents how Tane developed the building in a characteristically intense process that involved his creative engagement with the history and typology of garden houses.
