The permanent exhibition "Stuttgarter Stadtgeschichten" (Stuttgart City Stories) casts light on the city's history from the end of the 18th century to the present day from many perspectives. In a huge model of the city, present-day Stuttgart becomes a multi-media experience. In radio dramas and various fascinating exhibits, Stuttgarters from times past can be heard on the topics of press freedom, electrification and hip-hop. The interactive sections "Geist" (spirit) and "Gestalt" (design) have buildings and things from Stuttgart telling their own story - from "Filderkohl" (pointed cabbage) to Schloss Solitude. Pieces from the last 200 years of Stuttgart's history develop their authentic magic in these portrayals of bygone centuries. And everything revolves around the question: What makes Stuttgart so special?
