A Flower Reading from the Treasures of the Simplicissimus House Vol. IX - on the Occasion of its 25th Anniversary
On October 2, 1998, the Simplicissimus House in Renchen was founded as Germany's first purely reception-historical literature museum. The aim was and remains to present the work of the baroque poet Johann Jakob Christoph von Grimmelshausen, who died in Renchen in 1676, using modern art. An impressive and large selection of artistically expressive works can be seen in the permanent exhibition in the old building of the museum.
On the initiative of the town of Renchen, the exhibition series "From the Treasures of the Simplicissimus House" has been presented annually in the modern rooms of the annex since 2013. As a rule, these are work monographic exhibitions on Grimmelshausen. In the archives of the museum, however, there are far more valuable
and interesting individual works. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, an exclusive selection of these works of art will be presented to the public.

»Simply the Best«, ist auch ein Hit von Tina Turner aus dem Album »Foreign Affairs« (1989), ein Coversong von Bonnie Tyler. Die Entlehnung dieses Titels kommt nicht von ungefähr – die in der gleichnamigen Ausstellung zu entdeckenden Kunstschätze sind tatsächlich »Foreign Affairs«, eine Blütenlese: Bestes, bunt – ein anderes, ein wiederum neues Bild der Beschäftigung von Kreativen mit Grimmelshausen. Sie dürfen neugierig und gespannt sein!
