29 October 1923 is considered the birth of radio in Germany. In the same year, the company August Schwer Söhne Metallwaren-Fabrik began manufacturing parts for radio equipment such as coils and variable capacitors and henceforth called itself Schwarzwälder Apparate-Bau-Anstalt, or SABA for short. On the occasion of this 100th double anniversary, the eventful company history is re-examined - with the help of interesting anecdotes, hitherto little-known stories and the question of how SABA's legacy continues to shape the city of Villingen-Schwenningen to this day.
