The exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler will be the first museum show in Europe to present a career-spanning selection of Rudolf Stingel’s major series of works. Displaying these historical pieces alongside brand new works created specifically for the exhibition, the show will provide a comprehensive overview of Stingel’s oeuvre and articulate a multiplicity of answers to the question of painting’s current condition and possibilities.
Guest curator Udo Kittelmann, Director of Berlin’s Nationalgalerie, is a long-standing recognised expert of Rudolf Stingel’s work. In close collaboration with the artist, he is developing the exhibition as a site-specific concept for the Fondation Beyeler.
The exhibition is being supported by: Beyeler-Stiftung - Hansjörg Wyss, Wyss Foundation
