On the prowl - From the craft of hunting

Hunting fascinates and provokes. It is part of the multifaceted network of relationships between humans and animals and a living tradition in mountain areas. It arouses ambivalent feelings in our society. Although a primeval way of obtaining food, for many people hunting no longer fits into our times. We have lost the closeness to the origin of the food.

The new special exhibition focuses on the craft of hunting as a social practice passed down over many centuries. Hunters from the mountains take the audience on a stalk in their stories. They give insight into their knowledge and their actions and talk about their knowledge of animals and landscape, about the right moment to shoot and about the preparation of the meat.
