Werk des Künstlers Otto Herbert Hajek
Otto Herbert Hajek (1927-2005) is one of the most important artistic personalities of the 20th century in Germany. His large-scale outdoor sculptures also define Stuttgart's cityscape. The exhibition shows a representative selection of sculptures, paintings and graphics from the collection of the O. H. Hajek Art Foundation. Art and public space are closely linked in Hajek's work. The "Stadtzeichen Stuttgart" (1969), today on Theodor-Heuss-Strasse, is a reminder of Hajek's design of the Kleiner Schlossplatz, which is exemplary for the power of art in public space to create a sense of place. Following on from this, the art collective "umschichten" will develop a project for the Kleiner Schlossplatz as part of the exhibition.
