Otto Dill - Animal and Landscape

The reason for this exhibition is the large package of works by Otto Dill (1884 - 1957) that were recently offered to us as a permanent loan by a private collector. Together with Max Slevogt, Dill, who came from Neustadt an der Weinstraße, is one of the best known artists from the Palatinate, where he spent most of his life. While his work is clearly influenced by Impressionism, he also found inspiration on his many journeys that took him as far afield as North Africa. Although animals, whether lions or horses, became his favourite motif, he also painted numerous landscapes.
