Kohlezeichnung von Otto A. Braun aus dem Jahr 1963 mit Blick auf die Errichtung des Kurmittelhauses im Baden-Badener Bäderviertel
On November 11 and 12, 2023, museums and collections in Germany, Austria and Switzerland will celebrate the Weekend of Prints and Drawings. To mark the occasion, the Stadtmuseum Baden-Baden is presenting a cabinet exhibition of watercolors and drawings by the artist Otto A. Braun.
Braun (b. 1910, d. 1999 in Baden-Baden), who worked as a technical draughtsman at the State Building Authority, devoted his free time to art and produced a large number of drawings. Among other things, they document the changes in his home town in the 1950s and 60s and form an exciting addition to the current special exhibition at the Stadtmuseum, which focuses on the ups and downs and upheavals of these decades. But Braun's multifaceted oeuvre also includes wooden objects, ceramic works and prints, a small selection of which is also on display.
